Sri Lanka 3-Month Treasuries Yield Fall Sharply at Auction

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's short tenor Treasuries yields fell at this week's auction with the 3-mont falling 18 basis points to 9.95 percent, data from the state debt office showed.

The debt office sold 61.5 billion rupees in 3-month bills more than the offered 60 billion.

The 6-month yield also fell 3 basis points to 10.24 percent with 60 billion rupees of bills sold after offering 50 billion.

The 12-month yield was flat at 10.02 percent, with 18.3 billion rupees of bills sold after offering 30 billion.

Sri Lanka's bill yields are falling after a bout of currency instability from artificially low rates ended around the time of a May 2026 rate cut. (Colombo/July23/2026)
