MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's CT Holdings has disclosed the sales of shares by its Managing Director Ranjith Page and his two children, in a stock exchange filing, as well as separate transaction in Cargills Ceylon.
Ranjith Page was the driving force behind making Cargills Ceylon, a Colonial era department store in to a household name.
Page sold 18.2 million shares in CT Holdings at 575 rupees in a 10.46 billion rupee deal.
His children LR Page sold 244,622 shares and VR Page (junior) sold 245,722 shares
Separately Ranjith Page also sold 6 million shares in Cargills Ceylon.
The transactions were arranged by Asia Securities and most of it also executed by the firm, market sources said and the buyer was the Carsons group.
The CT Holdings sale totalled 10.7 billion rupees and Cargills Ceylon 4.2 billion rupees, taking the days transactions in the two firms to to 14.9 billion rupees. (Colombo/Aug26/2027)
