MONETABRIEF – Visiting International Monetary Fund officials were briefed on the progress of paperless customs declaration system that is expected to be implemented from October 01, the President's media office said.
Director General of Sri Lanka Customs Wimal Liyanagama, Senior Additional Secretary of the Revenue Administration Reform and Modernisation Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Seevali Arukgoda and officials met the representatives from the IMF.
Dinar Prihardini and Klakow Akepannidtaworn from the IMF expressed their willingness to provide the necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of the programme, the statement said.
Digital customs declaration system was a goal that had eluded Sri Lanka for many years. (Colombo/Sept12/2026)
