MONETABRIEF – China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Limited has won 40.84 million US dollar contract to build aviation fuel tanks and a pipeline to SriLanka's main airport, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.
The firm will also be paid an additional 8.5 billion in Sri Lanka rupees.
The contract involves building a 92,000 square metre capacity tank complex in Muturajawela, and a pipeline to the fuel terminal at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The Chinese firm won the contract after responding to international competitive tenders.
The procurement committee has evaluated three bids and selected China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Company Limited as the most responsive. (Colombo/Sept22/2026)
