Sri Lanka Rupee Closes Stronger Against US dollar, Bond Yields Down

MONETABRIEF – The Sri Lanka rupee closed at 329.75/330.00 to the US dollar in the spot market Tuesday stronger from 330.75/85 to the US dollar, while bond yield eased further, dealers said.

Fitch Ratings on Monday upgraded Sri Lanka's sovereign rating to BB- from CCC+ citing improving budgets and modest reserves.

A bond maturing in 15 March 2028 closed at 10.25/40 percent, unchanged from yesterday's 10.25/45 percent.

A bond maturing in 15 Dec 2029 closed at 10.70/80 percent, down from yesterday's 10.90/00 percent.

A bond maturing in 01 July 2030 closed at 11.00/10 percent, down from yesterday's 11.05/15 percent.

A bond maturing in 15 May 2031 closed at 11.25/40 percent, down from yesterday's 11.35/45 percent.

A bond maturing in 15 Dec 2032 closed at 11.40/50 percent, down from yesterday's 11.45/55 percent.

A bond maturing in 15 June 2034 closed at 11.90/00 percent, down from yesterday's 11.95/05 percent. (Colombo/Sept23/2026)
