Sri Lanka Hikes Diesel Rs10 and Petrol Rs15

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka has hiked auto diesel by 10 rupees to 392 rupees a litre and petrol 92 by 15 rupees to 414 rupees a litre, state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said.

Kerosene was unchanged at 285 rupees.

Super diesel was hiked 50 rupees to 528 rupees.

Petrol Octane 95 was unchanged at 475 rupees.

Sri Lanka's President Anura Kumara Dissanyake said a subsidy of 41 billion rupees would be given to moderate the price hike of diesel.

Sri Lanka's central bank amplified the shock of oil prices by busting the currency to 330 to the US dollar as oil prices went up, from 300 rupees a year earlier. (Colombo/Sept30/2026)
