MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's cabinet has approved borrowing 200 million US dollars from the Asian Development Bank through two loan programs, Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.
One 100 million dollar facility is a policy loan linked to Sri Lanka's International Monetary Fund program.
The loan will be provided on reforms to be carried out in the water supply and drainage sector.
The second 100 million dollars will be given to improve the tertiary and vocational eduction in the country.
In each loan 50 million dollars would come from the standard ordinary capital resources and concessional ordinary capital resources. (Colombo/Oct13/2026)
