BUDGET SUPPORT : Sri Lanka is seeking a 100 million supplement to $380mn policy loan package
MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's cabinet of ministers had approved seeking an extra 100 million dollars in budget support loans from the Asian Development Bank, spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa said.
Sri Lanka's cabinet on March 16, 2026 had approved seeking 380 million dollars in policy (budget support) loans from the ADB.
A 100 million dollar policy loan under subprogram 1 for reforms in trade, investment and industrial development, has been increased to 200 million dollars, after the Middle Eastern conflict and natural disasters.
The cabinet approved the proposal submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as Finance Minister. (Colombo/June16/2026)
