MonetaBrief Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Moneta Brief website, mobile applications, newsletters, APIs, widgets, data feeds and any related online services we provide (together, the “Services”).

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between MonetaBrief (“Moneta Brief”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and you (“you”, “your” or “User”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.


1. About Moneta Brief

Moneta Brief is a digital publisher providing economic, financial and business news, analysis, commentary, market data and related content.

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of these Terms. Certain features, including premium content, APIs, widgets, data feeds, partner integrations and subscription services, may also be subject to additional terms.


3. Changes to these Terms or the Services

We may update these Terms or modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. Where required by law, we will provide notice of material changes. Your continued use of the Services after any update means you accept the revised Terms.


4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the Services. You must also have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law.

Certain parts of the Services may require registration or a paid subscription. You must provide accurate, complete and current information. Your login details are personal to you and must not be shared, transferred or disclosed to others. You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

All content on the Services, including articles, text, data, charts, graphics, photographs, video, audio, logos, trademarks, software and design elements, is owned by Moneta Brief or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may access and view content for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share links using features made available by us.

You must not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders or similar automated means to access, copy, archive, index or extract content from the Services without our prior written consent.

You must not use Moneta Brief content, metadata, feeds or data sets to train, fine-tune, evaluate or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning model unless we have granted you a specific written licence.


9. APIs, widgets and feeds

Where we provide APIs, widgets, feeds or similar technical services, separate terms may apply. We may impose rate limits, technical restrictions or access requirements and may suspend or revoke access if we reasonably believe there has been misuse.

If you submit comments, feedback, messages, reviews or other material to the Services, you confirm that:

By submitting user content, you grant Moneta Brief a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, translate, publish, distribute and communicate that content in connection with the Services and our business. We may moderate, edit, refuse, remove or retain user content at our discretion.

If you submit photographs, documents, data, leads or tips, you warrant that you have the right to do so and that the submission does not infringe third-party rights. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, no payment will be due for such submissions.

We maintain editorial independence. The Services may include advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate links or promotional placements. Such material will be labelled where appropriate. We are not responsible for third-party products, services, statements or actions.


13. Subscriptions, billing and refunds

Some content or features may require a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles and renewal terms will be stated at the point of purchase. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in accordance with the relevant subscription terms.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly state otherwise. If you subscribe through a third-party platform, such as an app store or payment gateway, that platform’s billing and refund terms may also apply.

Market data, prices, valuations and other information may be delayed, incomplete, approximate or inaccurate. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any content.

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka, together with any applicable regulations, directives and guidance issued by the Data Protection Authority. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Moneta Brief and its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates from and against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising out of or in connection with:

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice where permitted by law, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms or if required for legal, security, operational or business reasons. 27. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Subject to any mandatory legal requirements, the courts of Sri Lanka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms.


28. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets.


29. General provisions

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not constitute a waiver. These Terms do not create any partnership, agency or employment relationship.


30. Financial tools and partner services

If we provide market tools, credit-related features, partner offers or other third-party services, such features are provided for information only. We do not guarantee approval, performance, suitability or outcomes, and third-party providers remain responsible for their own products and services.


31. Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be determined by the courts of Sri Lanka, unless a separate written arbitration agreement applies and is enforceable under applicable law.
