MONETABRIEF - Sri Lanka'S cabinet has approved signing agreements to borrow $100 million each from World Bank and Asian Development Bank, spokesman Nalinda Jayatissa said.
The loan from World Bank will be used to develop small and medium industries, expand economic potential and regional development in the North and East of the country.
It is part of one billion dollars earmarked for Sri Lanka by the lender.
The loan from ADB will be used to re-build damaged infrastructure from Cyclone Ditwah.
The money will come from concessionary ordinary capital of the ADB. (Colombo/Aug11/2026)
