Sri Lanka Rupee Weakens to 337.25/50 to US dollar, Bond Yields Rise

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted at 337.25/50 to the US dollar Thursday down from 336.00/30 a day earlier while bond yields were up on renewed Iran-US clashes, dealers said.

Sri Lanka's central bank has bought dollars heavily preventing appreciation and injecting money in recent weeks.

Bond yields were up ahead of a bond auction next week.

A bond maturing on 15.09.2027 quoted at 10.30/50 (indicative) Thursday up from 10.30/45 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 10.50/65 percent up from 10.45/55 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2029 was quoted at 11.10/20 percent up from 11.00/10 percent.

A bond maturing on 01.08.2030 was quoted at 11.40/50 percent, up from 11.30/35 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.10.2030 was quoted at 11.45/55 percent up from 11.36/40 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.12.2032 was quoted 11.66/75 percent, up from 11.57/65 percent.

A bond maturing on 01.11.2033 was quoted at 11.75/85 up from 11.70/80 percent.

A bond maturing on 15.06.2035 was quoted at 11.85/12.00 percent up from 11.75/85 percent. (Colombo/Jul09/2026)
