Sri Lanka Treasuries Auction Yields Fall Across Maturities

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's Treasuries yields fell across maturities at Wednesday auction with the 3-month yield falling the most, data from the state debt office showed.

The 3-month yield fell to 8.96 percent from 9.06 percent with all offered 35 billion rupees sold.

The 6-month yield fell to 9.27 percent from 9.44 percent, with all 25 billion rupees sold.

The 12-month yield fell from 9.81 percent to from 9.89 percent with all offered 20 billion rupees sold.

Sri Lanka has high volume of excess liquidity in parked overnight and in term repo deals with the central bank awaiting disbursement as investment credit which will generate imports.

Some of the liquidity has come from dollars purchased from foreign investors into rupee bonds. (Colombo/Sept02/2026)
