MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's Commercial Bank of Ceylon has been given the nod to sell up to 20 billion rupees in 5, 7 and 10 year bonds, the Colombo Stock Exchange said.
The bank plans to sell 5-year bonds which will pay 12.61 percent semi-annually and 13.00 percent at year end, the notice said.
7-year bonds will pay 12.84 percent six-monthly and 13.00 percent at year end.
10 year bonds will pay 12.84 percent six-monthly and 13.25 percent at year end.
The bank plans to offer 100 million bonds of 100 rupees to raise 15 billion rupees and another 50 million to raise 5 billion more in the event of an oversubscription.
The debt will be listed, rated, unsecured, subordinated bond which will be converted to shares in the event capital is depleted to comply with Basel III standard.
Subscriptions start on July 16. (Colombo/July14/2026)
