MONETA BRIEF – Sri Lanka rupee was quoted at 336.35/50 to the US dollar in the spot market, down from yesterday's close at 336.00/30 rupees, while bond yields were largely unchanged, dealers said.
The average bank buying rates for telegraphic transfers were 331.6264 rupees per US dollar and selling 340.9886 rupees.
The central bank two weeks ago, bought dollars heavily and injected money to the market, but does not do the same when the rupees turn into imports. However, it sells dollars to the Treasury for cash, helping reduce liquidity and maintain monetary stability.
Bond yields were flat, with some quoted wider in early trade, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2027 was quoted at 10.30/50 percent, slightly down from 10.35/50 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2028 was quoted at 10.60/80 percent, wider from 10.60/70 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2029 was quoted at 11.05/20 down from 11.10/30 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted narrower at 11.35/45 from 11.35/50 percent
A bond maturing on 01.08.2030 was quoted at 11.45/55 down from 11.48/55 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.10.2030 11.56/60 11.55/50 closed at 11.56/60 percent, up from 11.50/55 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2032 was quoted at 11.75/90 percent wider from 11.75/85 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2033 was quoted at 11.75/90 down from 11.80/90 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.11.2033 was quoted at 11.85/95 flat from 11.85/95 percent.
A bond maturing on 15.06.2034 was quoted at 12.00/05 unchanged from closed at 12.00/05 percent. (Colombo/July15/2026)
