MONETABRIEF – A key member of the Page family that owns Sri Lankas Ceylon Theatres group sold a stake in CT Holdings Plc, market sources said, while Carsons Group bought into the firm.
Ranjith Page held 19.1 million shares in CT Holdings.
It is the largest transaction on the Colombo Stock Exchange todate.
The deal was arranged by Asia Securities, which executed most of it, market sources said.
More than 20 million shares changed hands Monday, driving up market turnover.
About 6 million shares of Cargills Ceylon Plc were also sold.
