Sri Lanka 2026 Budget On November 12, Vote On 20th

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka has tabled in parliament the bill for the Appropriation Act for 2026, which is the first step of the budgeting process.

The Appropriation Bill has allocated 856 billion rupee for the Finance Ministry, 659 billion for Provincial Councils, 651 billion for Public Administration, 590 billion for Health, 500 billion for Highway and Urban Development , 458 billion for Defence and 328 billion for Education.

The budget speech will be delivered on November 12.

The vote on the Second Reading of the budget will be taken on November 20 at 600 pm.

Committee stage debates will take from November 21 to December 14.
