MONETABRIEF – The cost of building a breakwater in Sri Lanka's Colombo Port to protect the planned West Terminal 2 has gone up to 1.4 billion US dollars from the previous 1.2 billion, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said.

In December the results of an interim feasibility study is expected, he told the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment summit.

"The final report is expected in April," President Dissanayake said.

West Terminal 2 will have a capacity of 3.2 million twenty foot equivalents containers a year.

Separately, a decision has been taken to bring a private investor to Colombo Ports East Terminal, which is owned by Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
