MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's Windforce Plc said it was scrapping a proposed green bond issue due to 'prevailing adverse market' conditions.
"…[T]he company will not proceed with the proposed listed rated senior unsecured redeemable green bond issue due to the prevailing adverse market conditions," the firm said in a stock exchange filing.
In April Windforce said it was planning to raise 4 billion rupees from a green bond issue.
Windforce has won a series of deals from the power grid to build battery energy systems, through its joint venture Storex.
Separately the firm said it was also in the running to get contracts to build battery energy systems at solar plants owned by the firm. (Colombo/Sept30/2026)
