Sri Lanka Short Tenor Treasuries Yields Fall

MONETABRIEF – Sri Lanka's short tenor treasuries yields fell at Wednesday's auction with 140billion raised with more than offered 3-month bills being sold, data from the state debt office showed.

The debt office offered 60 billion rupees of 3-month bills and sold 71.9 billion at 9.86 percent, down from 9.95 percent.

All 50 billion offered 6-month bills were sold at 10.21 percent down from 10.24.

Out of 30 billion offered 12-month bills, 18.06 billion was sold at 10.20 percent unchanged.

Excess liquidity in money markets rose is around 185 billion rupees, with 60 billion take out overnight at 8.72 percent and 105 billion rupees parked in the standing deposit window at 8.25 percent. (Colombo/July29/2026)
